Gladia leaves redLine and Ubersexuals recruit Finns!

Lately Übersexuals have had some line-up issues. This has resulted in the recruitment of 
Haza and snap from the folded clan k1ck. I asked the leader of Übersexuals, 
dunc, a couple of questions:
What is your general impression of Finns?
Why did you recruit Haza & snap, seeing you already have two scouts and a demo?
Weqo has a lot on “in real life” at the moment, working late hours and designing various complex web-based systems, and simply can’t dedicate a lot of time to TF2. We’ve been on the lookout for a new demoman for a while now, but there hasn’t been any available. Snap originally didn’t want to get involved in the clan scene again, but after playing with us for a couple of games, I think he realised we’re not all bad.
When skre’s got his TF2 working again, I think we’ll be back better than ever 🙂

Gladia is probably one of the most known and best players in redLine. He has been around in the TF2 scene for a long time, but unfortunately he has now decided to leave the competitive TF2 scene. He gave me the following statement:
Tout d’abord, je ne prends plus, ou en tout cas plus assez, de plaisir à faire des matchs les soirs. La motivation n’est plus là, et je voyais cela plus comme une contrainte. Ce qui évidemment n’a plus aucun intérêt, car à la base un jeu par définition doit être amusant, ludique.
La communauté TF2 française est divisée en 2, de manière significative. Il y a les français qui percent, qui sont en minorité. Et ceux qui ont un niveau plus faible parmi lesquels certains ne jouent que pour le fun. Les bons joueurs, ne tirent pas les plus faibles vers le haut. Ce qui fait que le niveau français reste tout de même inférieur par rapport à certains pays.
Le jeu en lui-même est encore très peu représenté dans les LAN. Appart peut-être quelque LAN en Europe. Mais en France c’est le néant total. La Gamer Assembly a pointé le bout de son nez et à apporter une petite lueur d’espoir qui survie malgré le fait que les informations sont quasiment nulles.
La France, a du retard à ce niveau là. Et bien évidemment je ne fais pas parti des personnes qui déplacerais des montagnes pour que cela change. Mais c’est un constat, peu joyeux pour les joueurs français.

I wanted there to be something exclusively for the french!
It explains that french community is mainly casuals gamers, who play tf2 for fun. And even we have some good players in france, nobody’s trying to increase the frenchs players to a higher level, there are no event at all in france about tf2.

Here comes my crappy attempt to translate (nevermind the mistakes \o/) :
The fact that I’m stopping tf2 isn’t that much of a surprise. Multiple reasons led me to take this decision.
First, I don’t enjoy playing, well like I used to do, anymore. The motivation has faded away and it feels more like a chore, which is pretty pointless since it’s a game.
The french tf community is divided in two category. Skilled players who want to improve but are in minority. Casual players who are only here to play for fun and the skilled ones aren’t trying to help them improving. This explains why the french level is below many countries.
The game itself isn’t that known in LANs, except maybe a few LANs in Europe. But in France, there are none. The Gamer Assembly may change that and brings some hope but it still pretty slim considering that the news about are close to none.
France is way behind on that kind of thing and I’m not the kind of person that would do a lot to change that. But this is fact, and it’s pretty sad for the french players.
