Mega Hype On – The Scout Updates Coming!

Currently the power lies within the demomen of every team; of course an excellent scout pair, and experienced soldier/medic combos can kill things, capture points, and win rounds, but currently the demoman is the only class in the entire game that can solo a heavy weapons guy+medic without risking his life by being extremely close, or using specific high damage/high risk weapons, as well as other significant uniquenesses that separate him from the rest. Now this is class based gameplay: team fortress 2 to be precise, so having that small element of rock paper scissors allows all classes to adapt playstyles that suit their classes strengths, allowing for skilled play to produce tangible results.
So why is any of this interesting? Well within the next two weeks (estimated time from Valves shameless delaying and poor date usage :D) the scout is going to be the first 6v6 offensive class to receive new weapons, which could easily cause a shift in the power from demomen to scouts, wholy reversing the game, and changing many teams completely. If scouts can take out those demomen even easier than previously, the scouts and soldiers will be even stronger than before, whilst the demomen are forced into a struggle to keep up with the Power Creeping.
Good/Bad for the game? Tell me your thoughts. Something else that has caught my interest in the blog update (which has sparked all this mega hype!) is that “our design and coding has already moved on to the next pack”, and so we could be seeing a new class updated sooner than any previously. Which class should get the new weapons, if any at all, or should the main priority be on more balanced 5cp maps like everyones favourite granary – assuming this new gamemode doesnt become the new standard!

Anyway kinda anxious about this update. It could really fuck up the game balance, but I guess if the new guns are imba in 6v6 the leagues will ban em…
