Q & A: Complexity Syndicate and the N.A. Scene with PYYYYYYYYYYOUR

Quite recently there have been afew big changes within the  compLexity Gaming lineup. coL being known as one of the best teams in the game winning countless competitions under the teams previous mgo, Pandemic, before they swapped over to the very well known mgo that is compLexity.

coL’s recently added medic to their lineup, pure, who is willing to answer a few questions regarding the latest happenings within coL as well as the rest of the scene:

We have all heard about TheFragile’s recent departure from coL, but could you clarify anything for us?

There are a lot of stories swirling around about TheFragile’s departure from Complexity Gaming. While parts of the truth may be out there, it is in the best interest of all involved to just let sleeping dogs lie.

As sad as it is to see him and his famous :3 go, this has given you the chance to really show your skills. How did coL find you and what is your history?

I started with Saget in Tights (SIT, dev, iDemise), started a team with q3 friends, many of which now play with EG. After that I joined fragD/eximius/eMg. I’ve played every class in CEVO-P. As of now I am the medic for Complexity.

I’ve soldiered and Medic’d against the Reptile/oPlaid crew, so it wasn’t until they needed a medic that I offered to leave Team Dynamic, it just made sense. A friend of mine, Ruwin, was the favorite to join coL, but it didn’t seem to fit either side, so that dissolved pretty quick.

How are things over there in USA now? TF2 related ofcourse 😉 We all know about Obama :p

The USA scene couldn’t be stronger. A lot of players are coming back to compete in ESEA and CEVO. Along with that fact besides coL and Pandemic, the heavy favorites, there have been 2-3 formations that could easily contest for the top.

20ID consisting of: hubris, Seagull, dosr, ruwin, alexwut, saber07

pure.Esports consisting of: DL, wonderwall, scknssS, scruff, litany, creep, xarfo, and jeager

Push Gaming consisting of: Ducky, whaler, dinan, smaka, CB, and jj

Team seems to finally have the leadership that turns makeshift teams into actual contenders. Good news for the community… bad news for coL and Pandemic.

That is great news for TF2. The skill gaps all over seem to be getting tighter all the time. What are your thoughts on the Euro scene and Dignitas recent involvement in the CEVO league?

It was a pleasure being able to play against 4kings/Dignitas during last CEVO season. Both communities could learn a lot from each other. I personally partake in many European pickup games, mostly because the American gather system is a joke. That being said, FUYANKS. Like really guys? REALLY? For those that don’t know, it seems the Europeans want another beating!

Team FUYANKS consists of: Appe, dunc, Glufse, hymzi, Predzie, Sommie, and torden

If all else fails, pull out the Dallas server amirite? Anyway, How is coL’s lineup at the current time?

Right before last season’s CEVO playoffs the team ran into some trouble. From an outside perspective it seemed Fragile no longer was going to medic. Hubris finished off the season as the Medic and did an admirable job. I joined the ESEA roster and played my first match with coL as the ESEA finals versus Pandemic (Source Tv Demo). And for those that didn’t watch, it was a 3-4 hour marathon that extended through three maps and finished in Overtime.

Since that loss Complexity has been weighing their options and figuring out what to do. Alexwut and Hubris left to play with 20ID. Which put Adam “Reptile” Dopko in a sticky situation: Keep the current roster or find replacements. Complexity picked the latter and most recently picked up two players. Complexity will be officially announcing those players soon. One is a main soldier from a competitor and the other an Allstar from TFC.

As of now Reptile will be demo’ing, oPlaid will be scouting, REP will be soldiering, and I, PYYYYYYYOUR will be medicing.

Reptile is known for being good at most classes so it will be interesting to see how the change will effect coL, if at all.

Final question, We all know about the match between Dignitas and Pandemic on Badlands with the Dallas server Pandemic forced them to play on. What is your opinion of the match and what Pandemic did?

Pandemic is the current best team in North America. They have gotten a lot of flack since their medic is a CEVO Admin, their server is in Dallas, where three of their members ping below 10, etc

The match between Diggy and Pandemic was a great one. For the longest time it seemed the Euro’s were poised to win, which excited me because Pandemic already notified us that they wouldn’t let me play in the finals AND I was interested in a coL/diggy final.

Diggy had a 3-1 advantage going into second half, unless I’m mistaken, and I specifically remember Carnage winnning 2 rounds for Pandemic. Unfortunate for Diggy, stellar for Pandemic.

As far as the pings go, I played Dignitas 3 times through the CEVO season, and we always tried to make it fair for both sides.

Pandemic giving Dignitas such an unfavorable situation says a lot about the players, meatshot 8)

Thank you very much for your time and this exclusive interview mr. pure. Wish you and the rest of coL goodluck in the future and hope to see some more Euro vs American action, maybe a LAN? 😀

Send your love to Swifty! Good job!

It’s nice to see the TF2 clan-scene is going stronger than ever in both Europe and the US, 1.5 years after it has been released.

Seagull just joined the reformed 20id and Jaeger just left Pandemic for the reformed Apoplexy Industries.

(so doubt it)

I see Andrew “Hellraiser” Tran on their CEVO roster. Never heard of him, but I guess he’s their new pickup

The question remains, is he going to play scout, or paladin?
