Hidden in the Spy Video
With the very recent release of the meet the spy video, we get 3 minutes of entertainment, but as is common with the modern team videos are hidden tidbits of future content.
The first of the discoveries is some of the headgear that has already been confirmed by Valve:
Some other interesting screenshots of the video show the Snipers Razorback boxed away, with his machete resting on top of it. Also a screenshot of the Scouts Mum.
The most interesting parts for guessing at the update would be the way the Spy deals with his enemies. A new disguising effect was shown: whenever the red spy removes or replaces his diguise, there is a fiery redness surrounding him, rather than the normal grey smoke. This occurs when the spy is behind an enemy, but not already in range to stab.
Is it possible that the Knife unlockable will remove your disguise early when behind someone, but if the opponent turns round before you can normally stab, you may force a brawl between you and the opponenent, that your opponent is bound to lose, as seen with the Sniper and Medic battles, unless some teammate comes to the rescue (perhaps influenced by the work on L4D). Maybe through this brawl your disguise is replaced, and that you are required to have a disguise up for this effect to occur.
Another hidden part is the ability to throw/slide a sapper over the ground, and have it strike under a sentry to sap it. Could this be a replacement sapper, with limited numbers of sappers, but you may throw them?
The recurring theme here is the ability for the spy to be effective at close range, but giving him more options from a small distance away. He can remain away from the sentry and sap it safely, but he cannot repeat sap often, and he can target a single enemy for killing with his knife, before in range to guarantuee an opportunity for a kill.
Of course there could be no truth to it, and it could all be for the movie, which is excellent!
